Display Customized Message Opencart Extension helps you display messages, HTML, video, images, etc on your desired page and location.
You can display these messages based on different conditions and rules Ex: date based, customer group based, rule-based, etc.
Furthermore, the extension works with all themes and is super easy to configure.
It does not need any extra configuration to work with custom themes.

What are Different fields available for displaying a customized message?
Go to Extensions – Modules – Custom Message Pro.
Message Name: This is used for reference purpose of the admin. Give a suitable name to the message.
Select the store: You can select the stores where you want to display a message. Which makes this extension multi-store compatible.
Message Validity Period: Choose the time validity for the message. You can also set future messages. Or you can set to display in all time.
Audience:
Show To: Select the audience for this message.
- All users.
- Show only before login.
- Show only after login.
- Specific Customer group.
- Specific Customer.
- Guest Users.
Show on Specific product, category or manufacturer selection:
Select Categories: If you want to display on specific categories you must write the category name and select it. This will display the message on that specific category. The location of the message shall be near Category Title.
Category products display: If you want to show the message on all the products of the added category above. You must enable this. This shall display a message on all the products of the added category.
Select Products: If you want to display on specific products then write the names of those products and select them. This shall display on those products only.
Select Manufacturers: If you want to display on specific manufacturers you must write the manufacturer name and select it. This will display the message on that specific manufacturer. The location of the message shall be near Manufacturer Title.
Rules:
Rules: Currently we have 2 rules which you can use.
- Add Extra For Shipping: Suppose you want to display to the customer remaining amount they must add to qualify for free shipping. This must be enabled. This works for Inbuilt FREE SHIPPING extension only. If you use a different shipping method. It may need customization. This shall only be displayed if any extra amount is needed to qualify for free shipping. You need to use tag {amount_left_for_free_shipping} in the message. This shall auto display the remaining amount.
Ex: Add $20 to get free shipping. - Free Shipping available: This is useful if you want to display a positive message to the customer if they are eligible for the free shipping.
Styling:
Choose Colors: Choose the background and text color for the message.
Choose Font Style, Size & Weight: Select the font style, size, and font weight for the message.
Enable Close Button: If you want to add a close button for the message you can enable it. This shall add a close icon by which customers can close the message. Message once closed won’t be visible to the customer again in the same session. If they close the browser and reopen it shall display again.
HTML Message Editor:
Add Message: You can create your message in a different language from entering the message text box. You must use different tags if you want to create a dynamic message.
You can add HTML, Video or images in the message.
How To Use Tags for creating a dynamic message?
Tags are used to display Dynamic content like Customer Name, Amount Left For free Shipping, Customer Email, Etc. In order to show dynamic content, you must add the Tags inside the message. Our Algorithm shall auto show the value of the tag.
You can use the following tags:
{customer_name}: Use this for display customer name in the Message.
{customer_email}: When you want to show customer email in the message you can use this.
{customer_telephone}: Telephone No can be displayed when using this tag.
{order_id}: Used for displaying Order Id.
{amount_left_for_free_shipping}: Use to display Amount Left to be eligible for Free Shipping.
How to display customized messages using Design layouts?
Using Design layouts you can display a message on specific pages like Information Page, Contact Us Page, Shopping Cart Page, All categories pages or All product pages, Manufacturer page, etc.
- Follow the steps below once you have created a message from above.
- Go to Admin – Design – Layout.
- Select the layout on which you want to display the message. Ex: Information page, Shopping Cart Page.
- You will find your message name in the drop down.
- Select the location and sort order.
- So based on your condition message will be displayed on the layout you selected.
How to display customized messages on Specific Product or Category or Manufacturer page?
- Go to Extensions – Modules – Custom Message Pro.
- Create a Message Using Above Steps.
- If you want to display a message on a specific product, then you must enter and select the product in the product field.
- Similarly, you must select a specific category or manufacturer if you wish to display on that particular category or manufacturer.
- In the Manufacturer selection, Select the manufacturer on which you want to show the message.
- If you want to display on all product for a specific category then enable the Option: Category products display.
- Once the message is saved, It would display on the selected products and categories.
- You don’t need to add this to Design – Layouts. As that is used to display on all products or categories.
- If using a custom theme, then it might not show. You need to create a support ticket for this.
How to display customized messages based on Audience?
- Go to Extensions – Modules – Custom Message Pro.
- Create a Message Using Above Steps.
- In the Show To field. You need to select the Audience.
- Example:
– For instance, you wish to display the message to only a specific customer or customer group.
– Therefore, you shall only select that specific customer name or group for which you want to show the message.
How to display Free Shipping message?
- Go to Extensions – Modules – Custom Message Pro.
- Create a Message Using Above Steps.
- In the Rules field. You need to select the “Free Shipping Available”.
- In the message section, you can write your message. Ex: Congratulations !! You are eligible for Free Shipping
- Now you can display this message on the shopping cart page using Design – layouts.
- And Assign this message on the Checkout Cart Page.
How to display a dynamic message to show the Remaining Amount For Free Shipping?
- Go to Extensions – Modules – Custom Message Pro.
- Create a Message Using Above Steps.
- In the Rules field. You need to select the “Add Extra For Free Shipping”.
- In the message section, you can write your message. Ex: Want Free Shipping? Just add {amount_left_for_free_shipping} to get a Free Shipping on your Order
- You can see we have used the tag : {amount_left_for_free_shipping}
- This tag shall auto add remaining amount left for Free Shipping.
- Now you can display this message on the shopping cart page using Design – layouts.
- And Assign this message on the Checkout Cart Page.
In conclusion, you shall need to set up both free shipping and remaining shipping amount message. So customers shall have a clear idea about the free shipping. Also, these both messages shall never show together as they are having opposite meanings.
